Commander Chiaravallotti
Commander Chiaravallotti is a native of Pennsylvania and is a 1985 Graduate of Stockton State College. After attending Surface Warfare Officer School, Division Officer Course in San Diego, California, he was assigned to USS OUELLET (FF 1077) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and served as Damage Control Assistant, Electronic Materials Officer, and Electronic Warfare Officer. Upon detachment from OUELLET in 1989, Commander Chiaravallotti was assigned to USS BAINBRIDGE (CGN 25) in Norfolk, Virginia and served as Fire Control Officer, Systems Tests Officer, and Combat Systems Officer. After two years in BAINBRIDGE, he attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Commander Chiaravallotti was awarded a Masters of Arts degree in National Security Affairs.
Following Surface Warfare Officer School, Department Head Course in Newport, Rhode Island, and various AEGIS training courses, he reported to Precommissioning Unit FITZGERALD (DDG 62) and served as Weapons Control Officer and Combat Systems Officer. After four years in FITZGERALD, Commander Chiaravallotti was assigned to USS JARRETT (FFG 33) in San Diego, California as Executive Officer. In August of 2000, Commander Chiaravallotti reported to Commander, Destroyer Squadron FOURTEEN (CDS 14) in Mayport, Florida as Chief Staff Officer. Following his tour in CDS 14, he served as an Action Officer in the Surface Warfare Directorate, Chief of Naval Operations Staff (OPNAV N76) in Washington, DC from March 2002 until August 2003. Commander Chiaravallotti’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
